The China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology ("Aerospace First Institute") was founded on November 16, 1957. It is China's largest carrier rocket development entity. The overall technical performance of the rocket has reached the international first-class level. The institute has 8 research institutes, 2 entity units, 1 production and research integration unit, 2 production plants, 1 staff hospital, 2 wholly-owned subsidiaries, 1 Hong Kong listed company and several holding and shareholding companies. More than 20,000 employees, including more than 10,000 senior engineering and technical personnel, 24 academicians have worked here. The institute has won 3,487 awards for scientific research at the ministerial level or above, and 5 national special prizes for scientific and technological progress. It has won the "National May 1st Labor Award" and the title of the National Advanced Grassroots Party Organization.
